The page-quality gate
A route must have a stable entity ID, a non-empty name, coordinates and an approved source. It must also have at least one kilometre of mapped/stated distance, a meaningful description, or a route reference to enter the indexable sitemap. Named, located records below that context threshold remain available in the all-records research view and are marked noindex.
What is deliberately excluded
Unnamed or unlocated records, arbitrary search/filter combinations, private raw payloads, personal data and any feed whose rights are unresolved stay out of indexable pages.
Destination and place layers
The 22 destination guides rank season, discipline mix, indicative FTP range and planner cost as editorial estimates. Separate place pages use a quality-filtered Overture Maps projection around the cycling bases. Listings are discovery leads, never live prices, availability or endorsements.
Freshness
A scheduled job recomputes database totals daily. Source publication dates remain unchanged until the underlying source is genuinely refreshed.
Safety boundary
Historical cyclist incident data is reported only in aggregate with clear caveats. It is not used to predict risk or issue route-level safety scores.
