This register lists only public or open datasets that currently contribute to CycleTripPlanner’s public output. A file in storage is not publication permission: each source must also pass the recorded commercial-use and derivatives gate.

Editorial suggestions and research links
The destination notes use place names, suggested bases, seasons and terrain labels from the CycleTripPlanner editorial catalogue. Linked sites remain the publishers of their own content; their articles, images, hotel descriptions and videos are not copied into these notes. A successful link check is not independent verification of a destination or provider. Undocumented numerical ratings and route measurements are withheld.
How to read this
Permission still carries conditions
“Yes” does not erase licence duties. ODbL and CC BY-SA transformations keep their share-alike conditions; CC BY, OGL and the French Open Licence keep attribution; NYC-derived rows identify their source and modifications. Public-domain sources are still credited as provenance.
Rights-safe rebuild
Generated loops have a replacement path
The archived files used CGIAR-CSI hole-filled SRTM v4.1 ↗, which is not cleared for this commercial publication. The planned rebuild retains the OSM-routed geometry but replaces elevation samples with NASADEM HGT v001 ↗. NASA states that unrestricted NASA-led mission data is CC0, and LP DAAC confirms NASADEM has no restriction on reuse, sale or redistribution. Old ascent and timing values stay withheld until every GPX is resampled and the rebuilt outputs pass provenance and regression checks.

Private feeds stay private
Restricted accommodation and affiliate holdings are not listed as public sources and are not republished as route or place data. Contractual storage or account access is not evidence of a public licence.

These gate records do not widen this site's scope. In particular, there is no GBIF biodiversity join, Copernicus weather substitution, EPC/address enrichment, Ofcom coverage layer or OFAC matching on CycleTripPlanner.
Source records are transformed into planning context, subsets and summaries. Collision data never becomes a route safety score; fishing and transport coordinates do not grant access; place records do not promise opening, price or availability. The publication methodology explains the gates.
Destination photography
Destination pages use a separately reviewed Wikimedia Commons photo selection. Captions identify the photographer, source file, applicable Creative Commons licence and display crop. The photos illustrate destinations, not surveyed cycling routes or current conditions. Image rights were checked on 10 September 2026.
